You are a small sprite with the wonderful ability of Adaptation.
By Pressing E on a dead enemy or a Pylon Statue, you can look into their powers and take from them or give to them. The maximum number of powers you can hold increases with the bar and number at the top as you kill enemies.
Every 5 waves a boss will spawn, and after that enemies will come with higher-level powers. You’ll figure it out.
