My submission for GDKO 2023 – Round 1 “Create a single level in a unique location.”
Please play through one time at each zoom level and let me know which one you prefer! Press “J” on game start for default view and “K” for zoomed out view!
I choose the Astral Plane for my unique location, inspired by D&D!  A massive crimson eye watches over a mysterious city floating in the background.  A dismembered chained monstrosity sleeps just before you and, beyond it’s massive body, a strange pillar that seems to react to enemies slain.
Since this is just an art and level design round, none of the enemies can hurt you and there may be some other janky things I’m not accounting for! Sorry in advance!
I had a ton of fun doing all the art for this! I hope you all enjoy it and let me know what you think!
– Controls –
Double jump enabled by default.
R – Restarts the level
F – Full screen
ESC – Close
WASD – Movement (W lets you climb the chains.)
Space – Jump
Left Shift – Dash
Left Mouse – Melee
Right Mouse – Shoot
