Overview
Solridge is an educational video game aligned with third-grade Common Core competencies. As the player, you will obtain gold by helping the townsfolk with their problems. If you want to save the village from disaster, you must continue gathering gold and growing stronger!
All of the townsfolk’s questions are presented in a word problem format, teaching students the “real-world” applications of their classroom learnings.
Concepts Covered:
Finding perimeter and area of 2-D figures
Solving 3 digit addition and subtraction problems
Solving multiplication and division problems within 100
Partitioning a quantity into equal parts and naming those parts as fractions
Recount details of the text
Where, when, why and how key events occur
Determine meaning of words and phrases
Describe characters in a story
Tense practice (present/past/future)
Subject verb agreement
Pronoun antecedent agreement
Comparatives and superlatives
Capitalization of words in titles
Possessive nouns
Commas and quotations marks in dialogue
