As you find materials during your exploration you can upgrade parts of your lair unlocking features and new isles you can explore.The state of your lair is persistent and not lost if you die in a run.
Exploration
From your lair you start an exploration on one of the isles you have unlocked.
During an exploration you start from scratch and you have to make a build from what you find.
Each isle has a champion you will face after a fixed period of time. As you progress further in the game the champions will get tougher and you will get more time to prepare.
